Understanding and Supporting your Infant

This is a course for parents, grandparents, nannies and other caregivers of children from birth to 18 months old. It introduces you to the theories and core ideas that guide Montessori parenting. You will learn about the characteristics of your infant as well as the stages that they will pass through. With this understanding, you will then learn about how you can support their needs at home by preparing the environment and providing opportunities for exploration and learning,

COURSE CONTENT

• Week 1: Understanding Montessori – Your child’s needs and tendencies
• Week 2: Understanding Montessori – Your child’s absorbent mind and sensitive periods
• Week 3: Applying Montessori – Supporting Movement, Eating, Sleeping and Care
• Week 4: Implementing Montessori – Getting Started

Membership in a Facebook community and a one-on-one virtual consultation at the end of the course are included!

I am in the trenches with you! I am AMI Montessori trained for children 0-3 and 3-6 and have applied the Montessori philosophy with my three children from birth. I currently have a 4-month-old as well a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, so I’m not far removed from the experience. I have recently been in your shoes, and I know what you are going through. What You Will Get from This Course:

This course will guide you in implementing Montessori at home for your baby. From theory to practical applications, I provide you with the foundation to get started, show you why and when to offer activities; and empower you to problem-solve when something doesn’t seem to be working.

What You Won’t Get from This Course:

This course will provide a guide map, but you must choose your own route. I’ll share Montessori-friendly solutions and my personal experiences of implementing these with my three children; however, parenting is individual and should be completely personal choices that every family has to make for themselves.

This is an educational and support course not intended to qualify you for a job, but to equip you with Montessori knowledge and practical applications.

Other Details

• This is a relatively intensive course and will require the dedication of about 3-4 hours per week to get through the material and complete the assignments.
• On Mondays and Thursdays, you will receive a link to a lecture (audio with some videos plus pdf), relevant readings and an assignment.
• The information will be accessed via password-protected website.
• You will have access to a private Facebook group where you can post assignments, questions, pictures etc. and interact with other course participants.
• On Saturdays, I will have a Facebook Live session to answer any questions raised
